Add 6 Chords

The major 6 (add 6) chord is a major chord with an extra note added.
As you already know major chords (triads) are formed by using the root, third and fifth of the major scale
You make a major 6 by adding the sixth note from a major scale
To make a C major 6 six, simply place your finger on th third string 2nd fret.
The "A" note is the 6th note of a C major scale
This new chord adds a new dimension to any song.
I find it to be a relaxing, peaceful kind of chord. Think of yourself sitting by a rippling brook.

Play a C Major chord and a C add6 chord, back and forth. Cool!!
Here is the C major 6 chord.
